I finished this up a few weeks ago, it took me about a day. I had this shelf above the toilet in the water closet in the master bathroom and though it was to dark, so I primed it and added two coats of antique white paint and I wanted to add a bright color on the inside so I used the left over woodlawn blue paint from the dining room. I found a easy print out of the design and printed it onto card stock, then I cut it out and just used a pencil to trace it on the inside of the shelf. I took some paint brushes from the kids and painted over the pencil with the same white paint.
It wasn't easy, I couldn't get the middle shelf out.

I'm very pleased with the outcome, it really lightens up the room.
These bins were christmas themed I picked up on clearance at the craft store and used a coat of primer, and two coats of woodlawn blue paint and for the letters I used chalkboard paint.
The flower pots have bird detail in them, I picked these up at the Christmas tree shop
I used a stencil for the bird and chalkboard paint
I'm very happy with the shelf now, before I didn't like it so much.

ReplyDeleteVery nice. I love blue and white.
ReplyDeleteYour new hand painted carpet for the bathroom is gorgeous! (as is the above post project!) I've been trying to create a "stencil" to do a similar pattern on a piece of furniture for a while now and it doesn't look great, did you free hand yours?
