I hope everyone is having a lovely summer. I know I have been enjoying it with my family as much as possible. Its almost the end of July and the kids start school in about a month.
We just went through two heat waves already and its been very difficult to work on the computer. We do not have ac in our home.
Yesterday we finally had some relief from the heat but we took a trip to York beach in Maine and had a great time.
Today I'm sharing this mid century couch makeover. This is from the 1950's and was in great condition, only missing the cushions. I have never seen anything like this before so this was defiantly my most favorite spring makeover.
I wanted to "outdoor proof" it, or at least porch proof it. So I painted it in outdoor paint.
I hand painted the whole this with a coat of primer and three coats of paint.
The cushions were the most difficult part for me. I priced it out to buy outdoor foam to fit it and it was costly. So I ended up finding these thick patio cushions from Target. I found also found the fun floral little pillows from the Target also.
The exterior paint is Behr and the color is a Martha Stewart araucana teal
I also spray painted the metal springs that the cushions sit on.
If the the couch was a tad smaller I would of used it on my porch. I sold this the first day at the Vintage Bazaar
My last post was on the bed to bench number 2, you can see that here.
I've already decided for the rest of the summer I will not worry about work or my blog. I want to continued to enjoy with the kids and go to the beach and our local pond as much as possible.
As soon as the kids start school I will go back to a normal working, blogging and creating routine.
I will be sharing the mid century couch makeover at many awesome link parties, you can see which ones here.
