This is one fabulous desk. Why? Because its long and has Mid Century Modern style Legs and mostly because it was made in the state I live in.
It was made in Southfield Massachusetts in the 80's.
I painted it in a blue color that I mixed myself using some oops paint I had one hand.
The color on the drawer side is what the color of the desk looked like when I found it.
I used these yellow knobs that came from Anthropologie. I had them on a previous piece of mine.
I used Martha Stewart's gold gilding paint on the legs, giving it a dipped look. This stuff is great and covers well but you have to use it in a well ventilated area because it strong odors are not good for you. I also used this on my coral stenciled table.
I used antiquing glaze to darken the blue.
Here it is in my booth at Crompton Collective.
I couldn't find a before photo...how typical of me. But if you look at the photo of the drawer that is what it looked like.
This desk would be lovely in the middle of an office or as an entry table. You can fit ottomans or stools underneath for extra seating.
I love the way this turned out and wish I had the space for it in my home.
I will be sharing the blue desk makeover at many awesome link parties, you can see which ones here.
