Here is my latest redo....a faux fur stool.
My inspiration is this beautiful fur stool by Anthropologie

Now my stool is very different, its mid century modern and was a sewing table stool.
Now its great for an extra seat in the living room, in a hall or for a vanity stool.
Mine cant be as fluffy because the top comes off for storage inside. But it still looks great. It also cost way less then the inspired one.
This was very simple to do. I did how ever completely sand off all the shiny and chippy varnish on the stool and then I used rub on polyurethane to protect the wood. That was the hard part.
I bought the faux fur fabric at my local discount fabric store at $9 a yard. Which is much less then Joann's. They had a huge selection but I liked the white the best. I used my favorite tool in the world, my upholstery pneumatic staple gun by porter cable to staple the fur on. I folded the fabric under to keep the fur from coming off. This was the only annoying thing about the fabric. I had fur bits everywhere in my craft room.
Here is the before of the stool
its not the best photo but you can see scratches in the finish and uneven coloring.
This pulled off so easy.
Its just so cute and soft and I want to keep it but I cant....the hardest part about my business.
I do however have two other fur stools to share next....and those I'm keeping.
I will be sharing my fur stool at the link parties on my link party page click here to see them all.
