Fall Hall Table and Gold Painted Lamps

Here is my fall hall table in our entry way. Its for once not covered in kids toys, books and whatever else they throw on it.

I'm actually sharing some make overs in this post also!

The lamps got a redo and so did my mirror chalkboard!

Before we get to the lamps....

I couldn't wait to put out my new little tress...I'm hoping to get some more for my woodland themed dining room. The candlesticks I painted last year make a great stand for these.

Now the lamps

I totally updated them in an hour.

I was in Target one day and found the gray larger lampshades...at $9.48 each! What a deal. So I switched out my shades and didn't like the gray on gray so I taped the wire and plug up with newspaper and spray painted them gold outside. I used Krylon's metallic gold paint. This stuff dries so quickly.

I love that they shine and don't look tacky.

Here is a before of the lamps

I like them so much better now!

The chalkboard is technically a mirror....the kind you get off an old dresser. Well the part that held it was broken so instead of trying to fix it I made it into a chalkboard. You can see my original post on it here. I actually painted it a blue color but with my ever changing decor I decided to go gray.

and after I took most of these pictures I brought in these turkey feathers and took the candle stick out. I like the feathers better.

I even painted these rope balls gold! I could probably paint everything gold but I probably shouldn't!

They just look better now...plus they were hiding in a bin in my storage so now they are in use.

I know it looks odd were the tile and hardwood meet....

Anyway I'm happy with my fall hall table...its simple yet sweet.
