My mother bought this glider chair from a yard sale for $10. I do prefer a glider then a rocker so I was glad to take it. I just couldn't stand the 90's style fabric cushions. I also knew I'd be putting this in Harper's new nursery so I had to update the fabric.
As far as painting it I decided not to. The wood is in great condition and I knew mostly everything in her room would be painted so a wood piece helps warm a room up.
I had the fabric already. I bought it a while ago from my local discount fabric store and it was $4.99 a 54 wide home decor fabric.
All I did was make envelope style slipcovers for the two separate cushions. It was easy and fast and I wasn't so concerned about it being perfect since I love to change fabrics and who knows if I will find something I like better for her room.
There are straps attached the cushion that would wrap around the top of the chair and snap into place. It doesn't move when we sit in the chair so I didn't make straps or anything for the slipcover.
The faux sheepskin is from IKEA , the pillow is from a few years ago from Target and the little felt bunny is from me.
and of course this post has been in the works since before Christmas and since then I bought Harper her rug and I found this pretty throw on clearance at Target so Its hanging on the chair now.
I'm almost ready to share her room. I still have not taken down all of her Christmas decorations yet. I did however hang curtains and if you follow me via Instagram or Facebook you can see a picture of them.
