It's been a while since I wrote a blog post and I missed it.
We welcome Harper Marie on March 25th 11:55am. She came weighing 7 lb. 7 oz and measured 18 1/2 inches. She came fast and I had a wonderful and easy labor and delivery and a quick recovery.
I'm just starting to get back into painting furniture and gathering items for my space at Crompton Collective. I'm so thankful for my family who has helped with keeping up with my space. I will have it back to the way it was before soon. Once Harper gets in a good schedule I will be more productive. She is almost 2 months old already.
These photographs were taken at Target and she was 2 weeks old.
I painted her dresser when I was 33 weeks pregnant and I'm glad I didn't wait any longer since I had horrible sciatic nerve pains.
The color is Mint Julep by Benjamin Moore. I didn't want a girly color....just in case the ultrasound tech was wrong and I eventually want her room to be mint, gold and pink accents with light gray walls. For now she's rooming with us and so is her dresser.
I got the dresser locally for $50. It has a issue with the bottom drawers sticking to each other so I got a discount. But the dresser is solid wood and will last a lifetime. I wasn't sure about the mirror but I'm so god I kept it and painted it with it because little miss Harper loves looking at herself or me in it while I'm changing her.
I really wanted gold hardware but I couldn't find anything I liked or that would fit so I ended up spray painting them.
This corner is hers for now so we added a little light...that I had on hand from IKEA and a antler wall hook I bought from Hobby Lobby and the IKEA metal cart is holding her diapers, wipes and other items I need daily.
My favorite part of the dresser are the fox paper lined drawers. I sell this paper in my space along with other cute designs but the paper is thick and great for craft projects. I used doubled sided tape to keep it down.
I'm so smitten with my little Harper. She is a happy baby and well loved. She is the first girl and granddaughter in our family.
I love that I refurbished this dresser just for her.
I love this color that I think I will use it on some pieces to sell.
