I'm so excited to share harper's nursery today! We worked hard on creating a room just for her. She is one lucky little girl. She is the only one in the house with her own room.
I shared my inspiration board for her room here. If you follow me on Facebook and Instagram you probably seen the progress of her room in the past. I wanted a light gray for the walls and bits of gold, pink and mint for accent color. The rug being black and white goes well with these colors. I use modern pieces with older pieces and woodland mixed in.
Everything was done on a tight budget.
I love how her nursery turned out.
We enjoy being in here and I had so much fun decorating it. Although I do keep changing things around.
When you first walk into her nursery the window is straight across. Her crib and glider are to the right side and her built in shelving and bench are to the left. I'm trying hard not to clutter the space and keep the floor open for playing. The rug is soft but she can also use her ride on car on it.
We hung cute gold antler hooks on the side of her built in and her laundry basket is below.
For her built in she has a seating area that I will eventually make a cushion for, a place to store toys, books and decor.
It is very space apart but it works well. I like being able to have large frames & art on the shelves. We could even add more shelving down the road but we were on a tight budget so it works for now.
The chalkboard back is my favorite part.
I found cute free printables for the frames but then changed out one of them for a watercolor tipi I did. I will share the resources for everything at the end.
I made her a bunting and hung it in a wood frame I spray painted gold. You can find the buntings here.
The wood house embroidery art was made a long time ago by my deceased aunt. My sister painted the wood white and I'm so happy for Harper to have it. I love having sentimental pieces.
I bought the yellow trees from Target after Christmas. On the bench the pillows on the left and right are from Target, the middle one and fox stuffed animals are from IKEA.
I have two metal baskets I spray banter gold that are holding books next to her crib and glider. The mobile needs to go now that she is sitting up. I want to hang it from the ceiling since she loves it.
Harper was a part of the photo shoot. She is such a cutie...and crawling and pulling herself and cruising already!
I made the fabric wall hanging, the arrows are glittery gold. The fox canvas is from Target and since its small I added this old pretty frame to help it stand out. I painted it in White Dove.
For her window I made a roman shade from mini blinds. I have done many of these in the past. This was the hardest because her window is wide. I use the widest blind I could get which I believe was 74 inches and cost around $22. The fabric is from Joann's Fabric Store and I paid $15 for all of it. Its little triangles. Because it was thin I used a full size white sheet to layer it so it would not be see through. That was $5. So it cost me under $50 including fabric glue. That is not bad for a very large fabric roman shade.
The drapes are from IKEA, the clips are from Target and I will be painting them gold to match the rod. The rod is from Pottery Barn and was originally a pewter finish. I have not found curtain finials I like yet. I folded the drapes from the top so they are above the electric baseboard heater. When we shut the heat of I can unfold them and they can be long, which is how I prefer them.
You can read about her gilder fabric makeover here.
The faux sheepskin and crib is also from IKEA
Her dresser was painted before she was born and you can read a post on that here. The color looks different in her room. Notice how I left my cell phone in the photo..oops.
Her closet is the left.
Her dresser happens to fit perfectly in between the closet and doorway.
That is the end of Harper's nursery tour. I will be sharing her closet in another post.
