Our little lady bug. She would only let me put her hat and antennas on if she had my phone in her hand.
This was Harper's first Halloween to go trick or treating and she had a lot of fun collecting candy and placing them in her pumpkin bucket. She did about an hour of trick or treating then went back to grandmas with her dad. I took the bigger kids to more houses.
Now about this costume
The lady bug costume and coat were given to her by my mom when she was smaller. I actually forgot about them until a few weeks before Halloween. The coat is for Christmas and came with a velvet dress. I covered the little dogs with felt pockets and hand sewed them so I could easily take them off. We lost the original antennas so I made some using a headband, red pom poms and pipe cleaners.
Since I knew it would be very cold for Halloween night I made her a bonnet. It was really easy to put together even though I made a few mistakes. I used black fleece fabric and a faded triangle pattern for the inside. I know she can wear this more then just one night. I used deerskin lace for the ties. I found a pattern through pinterest and had to add a inch to make it bigger to fit her head.
I cut the triangle pattern upside down...thats what happens when you rush.
She wore a black long sleeve shirt and black leggings with cute boots because like I said it was going to be cold and it was.
All the kids had a great time.
