For Harper's first birthday I'm going all out with decorations. Mostly in pink and gold but also bits of mint and gray. Yesterday I shared a post on paper pinwheels that I also made for her party.
I'm making most of the decorations myself. A lot of supplies I already have. I started crafting for her party early March. I'd say I'm 90% done.
These simple gold foil butterflies are glued to the these paper striped strawss. I found the straws in the dollar area of Target and I have a butterfly hole punch and lots of scrap gold foil paper from making other decorations.
I made these felt flowers but they are currently being used as spring decor in our sitting room. I will share that in another post. I'm making a few more along with pom pom flowers.
I love using felt but it took me some time to cut all the petals. I used a thin wire for the stem and wrapped it in a light green yarn.
I created this backdrop for Harper's cake smash and birthday photoshoot I did a few weeks ago. I left it up for her party because her highchair will go in front for when she eats cake with our guests.
I used sheer curtain panels from Ikea that I already had over a sheet. I made the fabric buntings. I also added the balloons after since they wouldn't show up in the photo.
and here are the paper pinwheels i shared a quick tutorial yesterday. You can read more here.
We still need to get the house cleaned up a bit and set up tables and move furniture and I have to put the rest of the decorations up.
Besides getting all the food and drink and one last trip to the party store for balloons, plates and cups we are almost ready to celebrate our baby turning one!
