Finds For The House

With Amazon Prime day here I wanted to share some of my favorite finds for the house….like this 3 Pack Macrame Plant Hanger with three different sized from small to large. I currently have my boston fern in the largest one and I’m still deciding on what plant to put in the smaller ones.

I bought this set of 4 JUMMICO Metal Dining Chairs that are stackable back in March and we really love them. They are really sturdy, awesome quality and the price is affordable. I prefer metal chairs when you have kids because I swear the older kids broke like 5 chairs and I decided I did not want wood ones anymore.

I started about a month ago using pillowcases to help my hair and found these Bedsure Satin Pillowcase for Hair and Skin, they come in a 2 pack and I bought the king size ones. I wish I had bought them sooner. They also seem to help me feel cool on hot summer nights.

This Jerrybox Vanity Organizer, 360° Rotating Adjustable Makeup Storager has been the best thing I bought for storing my skincare, make up and brushes. I love being able to spin it around and you can adjust the shelves to fit different size products. I keep all my brushes on and store some jewelry and sample size products in the top.

I am always taking the kids to the beach or the park and I like having containers to put there lunch or snacks in. These Bento Lunch Box’s are the ones we are currently using and they come as a 2 pack ( pink and green ) with little forks also.

I just recently ordered the Ninja Nutri Ninja Personal Blender. I make protein smoothies almost every day and my blender pitcher broke and a replacement was about the same cost of buying this. I actually prefer this blender for smoothies over the regular blender I had. I read it is great for jucinging but have not tried it yet.

Lastly I wanted to share this Bissell 3624 SpotClean Professional Portable Carpet Cleaner because it has been a lifesaver and amazing on large rugs or even small rugs and if you have messy little ones and pets. I use this on our living room sectional and it cleans it so well. Definitely the best cleaning product I purchased.

New Ceiling Fans And House Plant

whitefan.jpeg

Over memorial day weekend the hubby put up a new ceiling fan in our kitchen/sitting area and one in Harper and Westons room.

We do not have air conditioning in this house, we can not install them in the windows and central air is so pricey. Ceiling fans are great at keeping the area cool and move air around. They used to always be so ugly to me but now a days they have a variety of styles.

This white one was only $89 on sale at Home Depot. You can find it here but unfortunately it is not onsale right now.

This is the light we had. We used to have a kitchen table in here and never replaced the light when we decided to turn this into a family room. I still need to move my wall decor over since buying the sofa.

If your interested the sofa is from IKEA and we love it. I plan to share some of my favorite IKEA finds soon.

I liked this fan because of the style of the light it came with. Its very bright as well. The best part is its very quiet and we can sill hear the tv when it is on.

I chose this fan for the kids room. I thought it had a vintage vibe and I liked the matte black. Its bright enough for the space and a tiny bit noisy but I think that helps them sleep better even though we have a sound machine.

I bought this one for only $39! onsale the week before memorial day. This one is a flush mount style and hugs the ceiling wall. You can find it here.

Lastly I wanted to share newest hanging plant. I found this at Trader Joes for $10.99 a few weeks ago. I ordered a three pack of macrame plant hangers from Amazon and put this one in the biggest one. I hope I can keep him alive but I think i need to hang it lower or remove the blinds.

I also wanted to mention that I’m trying to post more and but I have been super busy these past few weeks and June is full of more activities. Stay tuned and thank you for reading.

My House Plants

Peace Lily

Peace Lily

Could you believe I never had any house plants until a few years ago I started collecting succulents.

Then I found a pothos hanging plant at my local grocery store in the clearance area. He needed love and was only $4.

After that I decided I had to have more.

pothos-1

I Recently picked up some new plants that can handle low light. We have a lot of trees and we do not get a lot of direct sunlight.

I did research on which plants are good for low light and the Home Depot has a lot to pick from. Not my first choice to buy plants but we were there for a kid workshop and I saw the plants for $3.98.

pearlpothos-jade

This one is the pearl jade pothos. I picked up two of these. I like the color on this one. It has grown already from getting it about a week ago.

Pothos do well in indirect light and low light. Also letting the soil dry out before watering. I overwatered my $4 grocery store one at first and realized that when the leaves were turning yellow.

Here is when Harper and I put them into pots and a week later.

peace lily-2

I love the dark leaves on this peace lily. They thrive in low light but should not be near cold, drafty areas like windows. I found this website that explains about caring for these here. They are toxic for pets so if you have cats you should not get one of these and keep away from dogs.

Nasa ranked these in the top ten of air cleaning plants.

crispy wave

I thought this plant was pretty interesting, it is called the crispy wave. It is also great for detoxifying the air. It came with the pot and was $8. I have it in Harper and Weston’s room. Likes indirect light and soil to be moist.

This succulent is also new and I keep my succulents in the kitchen because we get a lot of sunlight in here.

And last these are the plants I’ve had for a while now and they are still alive except for the rosemary. I can never keep them alive.

I want to get some snake plants next. I’m having a hard time finding them and they are very god for cleaning the air in the house and says to take care of. I also would love some larger plants but not sure what I can do with our low light.

I plan to try making eggshell tea for natural fertilizer for my plants. Has anyone tried this?
