OutdoorTable Ideas

I'm working on my outdoor bard server right now. Once that is complete I'm going to move on to my next project, and maybe I might even get a few things done before summer is over.

One of my plans is to make a canopy for the patio, I have my dads old pop up canopy base and all I need to do is spray paint it and make a cover with drop cloth and maybe even paint it? I also think adding curtains to the side would be nice like the shear ones on my porch.

My big project idea is building a long outdoor table.

I want a table that is long to fit a good amount of people around it, not to wide either.

I'm thinking using wide cedar boards.

I have two old picnic table benches that I want to use with it and add some mismatch wood chair, which I'm on the search for now.

Here are a few photos that have outdoor table I like.

I wish I could find chairs like this!

This is cute but to small

I'd like one of these in our backyard, is he included? j/k
Look at this outdoor shower!

All photos are via Pinterest, for some reason it wont let me copy the link location but you can find the photos on my page.

Lanterns For The Porch

Over the weekend we went to a big party and I brought a old time favorite, macaroni salad, and I made brownies from scratch.,I will write a post on that later this week.

Sunday I started coating my boards with a outdoor sealer from Minwax, maybe I will be able to finish my outdoor bar server this weekend.

Today We spent all day at the lake and it was lovely.

Friday I hung these up on my porch.

I picked up 3 for a $1.50, but I cut the shells off. I think I might see if they have more or use something different and add a few more to make a cluster of them.

Here is a photo I found that has a cluster of lanterns hanging.

Here is mine

One of my candle holders for the blue jar is missing, I hope its in the house somewhere, otherwise I'll stick a glass tea light holder in the lantern.

I still have so much more I want to do...

I have a hard time deciding on a just a few photos.

What did you do this weekend?

Curtains For the Porch

This weekend we put up the curtain wire and my sheer curtains from Ikea. I'm very happy with the outcome and they worked very well for keeping the bugs at bay.

Before curtains
I need a special cleaner to get rid of the algae of the walls and floors. We also need to repair some boards on the floor.

I still have a lot more to do with this porch, but can only do a little at a time.

I will be replacing the plastic flower boxes with wood ones soon.

I had to use to curtain wire sets from Ikea so go all away around but they were very easy to put up.

I took the kids to a local small lake to try out today to see if a summer pass would be worth it and it was, the kids had so much fun and barely got out of the water, now they are all relaxed and tired. We need to do this more often.

Now I need to work on my bar/server.

Have a lovely day!

Cottages, beach houses & oh my

Oh how I would love to have my own beach house, cottage, lake house or even a boat house someday.

I just watched almost all of the new HGTV show Sarah's Summer House....I'm actually watching it now while I'm writing this post...online watching equals less commercials.

Here are some photos from her amazing beach house on a island....yes she has her own island.

I love how she white washed all the pine, before it looked more wood cabin then beach house.
Your going to want to start watching this if you haven't all ready.
